Police Arrest Three Over Lagos Doctor Death

Three persons have been arrested by the police in Lagos in connection to the death of Dr Vware Diaso at the State General Hospital.

NIGERIACRIME reported that the medical practitioner died last week while using an alleged faulty elevator in the hospital facility.

The deceased, a graduate of Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, was undergoing her mandatory one year internship programme at the hospital and had less than two weeks to complete the programme before the tragic incident.

The arrest of suspects was disclosed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin on Saturday.

The police spokesperson disclosed that investigation into the case has begun.

He, however, did not reveal the identities if the suspects.

It was reported that the hospital elevator that killed the late doctor crashed from the 10th floor to the ground floor.

Meanwhile, the leader of a cult group terrorising parts of Ogbologbolo community and its environs in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State, Ikem Thankgod, has surrendered to the Ahoada Police Division.

It was gathered that Thankgod was the leader of a cult gang known as Greenland.

NIGERIACRIME also learnt that the decision of the cult leader, popularly called, 2 Man to surrender to the police may not be unconnected to the recent massive onslaught of criminal elements and busting of their camps by the police, in collaboration with other sister security agencies in the state.

On Friday, Thankgod was reported to have submitted one AK 47, one G3, and one Mark 4 rifle, as well as AK-47 live ammunition to the police when he surrendered.

The Youth President of Ogbologbolo community, Buduzhi Ogbani told journalists that the decision of the cult leader is a welcome development.

He urged other cultists to surrender to the police to ensure peace and stability in the area.

“Around eight this morning, as we reached the police station, we saw a car. They told us that it is the DPO of Ahoada East.

“And then, Ikem Thankgod came with some guns and submitted them to the DPO and some security men that came with him.

“He submitted the guns and the DPO spoke to him on the need for peace. Thankgod accepted everything the DPO told him.

“Before this DPO was deployed here, we have been experiencing a lot of killings and harassment.

“My advice to other cultists is that they should submit their ammunition and their rifles.

“This DPO is really trying because, without him, this Ahoada East and West won’t have peace at all,” he added.
