Police neutralise two suspected terrorists, rescue kidnap victim

Operatives attached to the Katsina Police Command have neutrality two notorious terrorists while repelling an attack at Kitibawa Village, Dutsinma LGA, and Unguwar Balarabe Danja LGA of the state.

Nigeriacrime.com gathered that the operatives also rescued a 55-year-old Kidnap victim on February 12, 2023, at about 4:45 PM.

According to SP Gambo Isah,
Police Public Relations Officer (Ppro), a distress call was received that terrorists in their numbers, shooting sporadically with AK 47 riffles, attacked Kitibawa village, Dutsinma LGA and kidnapped Alhaji Ado Rumawa of the same address.

“Consequently, Area Commander, Dutsinma, led Police patrol team to the area and engaged the terrorists in a gun duel. The team succeeded in repelling the terrorists and one of them was neutralised. And the kidnap victim was rescued unhurt.”

“Many of the terrorists were suspected to have fled the scene with gunshot wounds. Police teams are presently combing the area with a view of arresting the injured hoodlums and/or recovery of their dead bodies. Investigation is ongoing.”

In a related development, on the same date at about 1:30 PM, a distress call was received that terrorists, numbering about twenty (20), armed with dangerous weapons, blocked Danja – Bakori road, along Unguwan Balarabe junction, robbing unsuspecting members of the public of their belongings. DPO Danja Division led a police patrol team to the area and engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. The team successfully repelled the terrorists, which forced them to abandon their heinous mission and fled the scene with various degrees of injuries. In the course of scanning the scene, one suspected terrorist was neutralised. A cutlass, three (3) mobile phones, and a stick were recovered at the scene by the police during the search. Investigation is ongoing.

Similarly, a notorious syndicate of armed robbers terrorising Katsina Metropolis have been arrested. The suspects, identified as Hamza Lawal, alias “SHOW”, aged 25, and Umar Adamu, alias “JANKAI” aged 24 both of Farin Yaro Quarters, Katsina, were arrested at Yanturaku, Tudun Yanlihidda Quarters, Katsina, in possession of the following items: Two sacks containing pieces of armoured cable wire, One sharp dagger, one digger, one Hacksaw and three (3) big brighter torchlights.

In the course of the investigation, suspects confessed to have conspired with Yau Ibrahim Hussaini, alias Abba Kato, Abu Danta’aya, ‘M’ and Dan’Audu Maimota and stole away the said armoured cable wire at the frontage of Alison Electric Store along IBB Way, Katsina, valued five hundred and three thousand (N503,000:00K).

Similarly, the same suspect, Ibrahim Hussain, alias, “KATO”, was among the six-man syndicate of armed robbers that attacked the residence of Alhaji Aminu Zayyanu, of Farin Yaro Quarters, Katsina, and robbed him of one motorcycle, ash in colour, unregistered, generator, jerrican of fuel and some food items. In the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to have committed the offence alongside Abu Danta’aya, and Salim Ismail all at large. Investigation is ongoing.
