Police Parade Seven Suspected Burglars In Ekiti

No fewer than seven suspected burglars were  paraded by the Ekiti State Police Command for breaking into a warehouse in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Sunday Abutu, who in a statement said, “The Command received a credible information that a warehouse at Km 4, Iworoko road, Ado-Ekiti was being burgled by unknown thieves

“Upon receipt of the report, the Command’s operatives swung into action and mobilized to the scene, arrested seven suspects namely- Donne Houndetounkpo (25yrs), Coker Akeem, Adewole Olatunde (31yrs), Olowosile Bukinmi (25yrs), Ajileye Deborah (30yrs), Paul Jonati (32yrs) and Ojo Micheal (31yrs).”

According to Abutu, during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime and mentioned one Akinleye Ojo as one of the gang members who narrowly escaped from being arrested by the operatives.

While effort is ongoing to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Moronkeji O. Adesina, maintained that the arrested suspect would be arraigned accordingly and implored citizens to remain law-abiding.

Meanwhile, gunmen have again attacked Souther. Kaduna, leaving four persons dead in Kamuru, Ikulu, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the State in two different attacks on Monday and Tuesday; 12th and 13th December 2022, respectively.

The gunmen were said to have attacked the community at 10 pm on Monday and struck the following morning again at 9 am.

The Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government Council, Mr Francis A. Sani, who led operatives of security agencies on a visit to the scene, called on the people of the area to remain calm and allow law enforcement agents perform their constitutional duties in ensuring the perpetrators are brought to book.

The four persons killed were identified as William Stephen (28), Francis Ishaku (18), Neyu Micah (27), and Yohanna Augustine ( 27), while others were left with different degrees of injuries.

A source in the area said that Mrs Uloma Eze Nnemeka, who is newly married, was kidnapped.
