Residents of the ancient town of Ipokia, in Ogun State have handed over a man to the police in the state for allegedly exhuming human skulls from graves within the town.
According to reports available to NIGERIACRIME, three months ago, this ritualist and his partners, invaded the ancient town to dig graves for skulls.
Recently, when the town residents counted the graves that had been dug by these ritualists, they discovered that over 50 skulls had been removed from the burial ground.
The culprits were said to have operated under the cover of darkness.
However, the community leaders of Ipokia led men within the town to stay at alert in order to catch the people perpetrating the act.

This led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as Gbesemehan Dewanu Solomon, who was nabbed while trying to harvest a skull in Idologun community on Tuesday night.
The suspect was about to dig a grave when he was nabbed by residents and was reportedly apprehended with a skull in his bag and his digging tools.
Confirming this, the Onipokia of Ipokia, Oba Yisa Olaniyan, told newsmen that the town has handed the suspect over to men of the state police command and investigation has commenced immediately.
The monarch appealed to the Ogun State police command to do everything necessary to fish out the accomplices of Solomon and those buying the skulls from him, saying, “we must get to the root of this matter and everybody involved must face the law, no matter who they are.”
The traditional ruler further disclosed that human skulls were recovered from the man’s house when it was searched by the police.
Contacted, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, promised to revert.
Meanwhile, police sources who confirmed the arrest anonymously, said the suspect is still being interrogated.
