Rivers Woman Stab 12-Year-Old Girl For Splashing Her Water

A woman, identified simply as Abigail, has reportedly stabbed her 12-year-old neighbour for splashing water on her.

The 30-year-old suspect, according to report, was on Saturday arrested by men of the Rivers State Police Command.

The incident happened in Rumuodara in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

Oluchi, the sister of the victim, Oluebube, said Abigail left the knife in the girl’s body.

She told reporters that the victim was stabbed after she hit the woman with water in their compound.

The victim was washing plates outside their apartment when the woman stepped out to fetch water, Oluchi said while narrating what transpired.

Furthermore, she said, “My sister, unknowingly, entered (the corridor) with the pot and ran into the woman. Both of them fell and she beat my sister.

“Other neighbours started begging the woman that it was a mistake, but the woman refused.”

The woman was said to have immediately ordered Oluebube to sweep the spilled water while she continued fetching water.

“As my sister was about sweeping, she (Abigail) came out with a knife and stabbed her. The head of the knife broke, the knife stayed in my sister’s body.”

The police were called to the scene but the suspect entered her room and tried to elope through the back door but was eventually caught.

Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-koko confirmed doctors had removed the knife from the teen’s body, adding that Abigail would be prosecuted.
