The Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, Oforchukwu Egbo, has lost one of his drivers to the deadly attack of some yet-to-be- identified gunmen on Wednesday.
This disturbing news is coming in less than three days to the commencement of the 2023 general elections, which has been predicted to be violent by different groups and individuals, including the United States Embassy in Nigeria.
It was learnt that the candidate’s campaign convoy was attacked at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.
According to reports available to NIGERIACRIME, the driver’s body was burnt beyond recognition with the vehicle.

In the same vein, at least five persons were killed by gunmen, who attacked the Sienna bus belonging to the Labour Party candidate for Enugu East Senatorial District Barr Oyibo Chukwu.
The incident happened around Eke-Otu, Amechi Awkunanaw in Enugu South Local Government Area, Enugu State late Wednesday.
An eyewitness stated that the bus which the candidate uses for his campaign was set ablaze with people in it burnt beyond recognition.
It is not yet clear whether the candidate was among the victims.
All efforts to speak with the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, proved abortive as he could not be reached on telephone as at the time of filing this report.
