Some angry residents of the ancient city of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has lynched a suspected armed robber and rapist, who have reportedly terrorized the area for a long time.
One of the communities that was said to have fallen victim to his crimes is Apete in the Ido Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the suspect was apprehended around 4 am on Wednesday while on an operation in the Adagbada Arola area in Apete and beaten to death by the mob.
According to a source, who preferred to remain anonymous, the suspect attacked two young ladies and stole their phones and an undisclosed amount of money from two ladies.

Furthermore, he locked one of them inside a toilet with the intention to rape the other. However, the one in the toilet escaped and raised an alarm, which prompted the neighbours to come to their aid.
The case was later brought to the attention of police officers from Apete Divisional Headquarters on Wednesday.
The corpse was recovered by the police and taken to Adeoyo state hospital.
Speaking, the Oyo State Police Command says it has commenced investigations into the alleged killing of the suspected armed robber.
Public Relations Officer of the police command, Adewale Osifeso made this revelation on Thursday.
Osifeso added that the investigation is in progress.
“Investigation is in progress.
“Updates would be provided accordingly, please”.
