Three Arrested Over Delta APC Chieftain’s Murder

Three suspects have been arrested in connection to the death of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Chief Sylvester Efeurhobo.

The suspects were by personnel of the Delta State Police Command in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

Recall that some gunmen attacked the residence of the deceased, a dedicated member of the APC, on Sunday night and shot him dead.

The deceased was said to be the chairman of a pro-APC Support Group, known as the Achievers Group, in Agbarho.

The latest development was confirmed on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, in Asaba.

He said that three persons have been nabbed in connection with the killing which occurred on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his country home in Agbarho town.

“Yes, it is confirmed, but I can not say whether he was a party man or not but we are still investigating, so far three suspects that have been arrested,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Federal Road Safety Corps on Tuesday confirmed the death of twelve passengers in a fatal accident.

Ten of the victims were reportedly women while two were males.

It was gathered that the accident occurred at the Ezzillo community along the Abakaliki-Enugu highway.

The victims chartered a fourteen (14) seater EBSU bus from Abakaliki to Enugu State to attend a burial.

An eyewitness who spoke to newsmen in Abakaliki said the EBSU bus had a head-on collision with a truck returning from Enugu State.

Confirming the incident, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Ebonyi, Uche Chukwurah said the accident involved a shuttle bus and truck.

Chukwurah confirmed that the occupants of the bus were fourteen (14), twelve women and two men.

He said that two persons sustained grave injuries from the accident that occurred in the morning hours.

“The accident involved a shuttle bus and truck.14 passengers were involved. 12 died: 10 females and 2 males. The 2 injured are receiving treatment at the hospital,” the sector commander noted.
