Two Arrested For Stealing Foodstuff, Household Items

The Ogun State Police Command and the So-Safe Corps have arrested two men for allegedly stealing a live turkey, half bag of rice, palm oil, noodles and other foodstuff.

The suspects, identified as Kolawole Shobowale and Moruf Soyoye, were arrested at Oke-Ejigbo area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Omolola Odutola, the suspected thieves had been terrorising and breaking into shops and houses at Oke-Ejigbo.

She said Kolawole and Moruf were arrested around 6:30 am on Sunday with the help of intelligence received from Commander Lawal Mudashiru of the So-Safe Corps.

The police image maker said the So-Safe Corps officer had sighted a three-member gang and trailed them to their houses, stating that one of the suspects with blood-stained leg was carrying a live turkey.

The So-Safe Corps operative was said to have cordoned off the houses of the suspects, leading to the arrest of two of them, as one escaped.
