Operatives of the Western Security Network Agency, Osun Amotekun have arrested two suspected criminals, Segun Ajayi, aged 27 and 37-year-old Sunday Adedoja.
According to the Osun Amotekun Field Commander, Captain Benedict Akanni (rtd.), men of the command found a double barrel dane gun in the possession of the suspects.
Akanni on Wednesday said the duo, who were arrested in Modakeke town had terrorised the ancient town and its environs before the combatant apprehended them.
He said the suspects were nabbed in the early hours of Tuesday after a complaint had been lodged at Amotekun Modakeke Command on their activities.
“The suspects were arrested for possession of illegal firearms; they were caught and arrested with a locally made dane gun and charms.

“The arrest was made possible by our operatives in modakeke command who swung into action immediately after a complaint was lodged on the activities of the culprits.
“Investigation revealed that the suspects are ex-convicts.”
While explaining that the culprits have been transferred to the police for subsequent investigation, Akanni urged the residents of the state to be security conscious and expose any criminals’ hideout in their domains to the security agencies.
Meanwhile, an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in the Ogba area of Lagos State, on Tuesday, remanded a 25-year-old man, Ishaya Madaki, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly forcefully having sexual intercourse with a teenager in the Iyana Iba area of the state.
Magistrate Mrs E. Kubenje made the order after the defendant who is facing one-count bordering on rape preferred against him by the police was arraigned.
The police, Olakunle Orebe, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between September and October 2022, adding that the defendant forcefully had sexual intercourse with the 16-year-old girl without her consent.
According to the prosecutor, the offence committed is punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
