The lifeless body of a lady identified as Ruth Yakadi was discovered at a car wash on Sunday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Yakadi was a 400-level student of the Department of English, University of Jos.
According to multiple sources, residents found the corpse of the young girl which was raped and stabbed to death near a filling station near Farin Bridge I in the Jos Local Government Area.
NIGERIACRIME gathered the assailants killed her after a lot of struggles to forcefully have an intercourse with her.
One of the sources, who pleaded anonymity, explained that the girl’s corpse was dumped after being murdered in an unknown place.
He added security agents were deployed in the area to avoid an ethno-religious crisis brewing among the youths due to the incident.

When contacted, the Head, Department of English, UNIJOS, Prof. Jeff Doki, said the deceased was waiting for mobilisation by the National Youth Service Corps after her project.
He said, “I have lost three students since I became HOD in 2021; two males in July and September 2022 during the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
“Information reaching me indicates that the girl who was killed last night (Saturday) at Farin Gada is a spill-over student of our department.
“She was supervised by Dr Douglas Kaze and had issues with her long essay. Perhaps, she was done with the project perhaps she was not.
“Information available shows the girl was raped and killed thereafter. As things stand now, we are wondering if they are rapists or assassins.”
Another source said “The corpse of a young girl identified as Ruth was discovered this morning at a car wash after Hariz Filing station near Farin Gada bridge in Jos. The lady’s underwear was hanging on her legs an indication that she was raped. Her legs were dusty, an indication that there was a struggle, or probably, she was raped somewhere and her corpse dumped there. She was also stabbed.
“Ruth who lives in the Zaruma area, reports say got work in Rayfield about a week ago and it was when she closed in the evening that she met her untimely death in the hands of these unscrupulous elements. She was found with machete cuts on the body at the car wash.”
An eye witness who declined to be named said that “tension mounted in the area as residents and students staged a protest against the killing of the lady but the protesters were resisted by security agents so that the situation does not escalate to crisis. It was alleged that the victim disagreed with her yet-to-be-identified boyfriend who is suspected to be a member of a cult group, he probably might have killed her and dumped the corpse, and hoodlums almost took advantage of the protest to attack people before security agents intervened.”
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the incident and assured that the perpetrator will be brought to book.
