Kebbi State Command has handed over seized illicit drugs to the National drugs law enforcement agency.
Nigeriacrime.com gathered that the hard drugs were seized by operatives along Kamba-Kyangakwai border based on tipped off from people.
Confirming the Command, the state Comptroller of Customs in Kebbi state Mister Ben Oramalugo said that added a white vehicle described by the Good Samaritan was searched by his men and was found carrying 104 parcels of cannabis concealed in a laptop and 99 5mg packs of Diazepam and over 70 packs of 22mg of tramadol with duty paid value of over sixty-four million, six hundred and thirteen (64,613,594.)
Also seized during the operation according to him include one used Honda Accord 2014, one used Opel, jerrycans of petrol, and second-hand clothes among other contraband items
Mister Ben while handing over hard drugs and the suspect Sulaiman Yusuf known as Babangida to the NDLEA warned criminal elements in Kebbi state who are bent on destroying the future of Kebbi youth to stay off the state as his men have made it too hot for them to operate “what we are witnessing today was a good result of inter-agency collaborations which we are permitted to do by law, we are also empowered to seize not only drugs but weapons and other outlawed goods he said.
Accepting the seized hard drugs from Kebbi Customs, the Kebbi state Commander of National drugs enforcement agency (NDLEA) Mister Sulaiman Usman said that on behalf of the National Chief, Buba Marwa the items and the suspect are accepted from the Customs and appropriate action would be taken against the suspect.
He urged parents and guardians to imbibe the culture of early drugs addiction detection by consulting them when they noticed strange attitudes from their children not after they got out of hand he said sometimes children due to drugs intake beat up their parents sometimes even kill them ” come to us we don’t only arrest, seize drugs we also rehabilitate victims at our reformatory section.
He thanked the management of Kebbi Customs and pledged to maintain the existing cordial collaboration with the Command.
