14 suspects paraded in Ogun Police Command

The Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 14 suspected criminals including a serial killer cum ritualist, Ifasoji Ayangbesan, who recently offered a N1 million bribe to police operatives in Ijebu-Ode area of the state to enable him to escape arrest.

Nigeriacrime.com gathered that a notorious cultist, Adebayo Adenuga, whose name has been prominently featured in a series of cult clashes that have rocked Ijebu Ode and its environs in recent times was among the paraded suspects.

Parading the suspects, the State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji disclosed that the arrest of the criminals was a result of the strategic “operation flush out the criminals” embarked upon by the command, which forced all its tactical units to go hard on the criminal elements across the state.

Another notorious cultist, Adenuga and four other cultists who engaged the police in a gun duel, while preparing for a supremacy battle with another secret cult group in Elega area of Abeokuta we’re also paraded.

The Police Commissioner said that “The Anti-Cult team in collaboration with men of the So-SAFE Corps moved to the scene where the hoodlums on sighting them, engaged the security operatives in a shootout. But they later bowed to the superior firepower of the policemen. At the end of the encounter, two among them: Noah Ayobami a.k.a. Anobi – 7 and Azeez Ololade a.k.a. Bamson were fatally injured, while two others; Okuwaseun Adebowale a.k.a. Eko and Qudus Sodimu a.k.a. Baba-Bu were apprehended”.

Other suspected criminals paraded included six armed robbery suspects and two others held for car theft, while various locally manufactured guns, live and expended cartridges, as well as other assorted charms, were recovered from them.

While soliciting the cooperation of members of the public to enable the police to stamp out crimes and criminalities in the state, Oladimeji however, assured that his command will deploy every weapon in its arsenal to wage war against the criminals and their sponsors across the state.
