The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) Sector 3, Monguno, Nigeria at the weekend recorded more in the trend of Boko Haram fighters laying down their arms, with 2 more fighters surrendering on 13 April 2024.
Nigeriacrime.com gathered that the latest fighters to surrender are identified as Ahmed Isiaka and Adam Muhammed, aged 18 and 17 years old respectively, both hailing from Kolloram, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria.
According to Lt. Col Abubakar Abdullahi, spokesman of MNJTF, “They relinquished various items, including 250 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 50 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, and a 9mm PARA round, among other personal belongings.
Lt Col Abubakar recalled that “on 26 March 2024, the MNJTF reported the surrender of 2 terrorist commanders,
“These events underscore the effectiveness of the diverse non-kinetic measures the MNJTF has implemented to promote safety and security in Lake Chad basin region impacted by Boko Haram and other terrorist activities.
“The MNJTF is committed to restoring peace and facilitating the return of normalcy to the affected region.”
