29-year-old man, 3 others arrested for kidnapping, killing minor in Kano

A Twenty-nine, 29-year-old man, Ado Ibrahim is currently being investigated by operatives of Police in Kano State for the kidnapping, and killing of a five-year-old minor, Hamza Harisu and thereafter demanding N20 million ransom.

The suspect and his accomplices were arrested following a report by the father of the deceased who reported at the police station.

According to the victim’s father, “my five years old, was kidnapped and a ransom of Twenty Million Naira (N20,000,000:00) was demanded by the kidnapper(s) later, we negotiated the ransom to Five Million Naira (N5,000,000.00).

NigeriaCrime.com gathered that the suspects lured and kidnapped a five-year-old victim on October 27th 2022 at about 7 pm when it was dark. He thereafter carried the victim to a nearby bush and strangled him to death.

Confirming the incident, the public relations officer of the Kano Police Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna said the suspect Ado was arrested alongside three other suspects.

SP Haruna said the police swung into action after the father of the deceased victim reported the incident which occurred in Doguwa LGA of the state to the command and swift action led to the arrest of the principal suspect and others.”

On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Abubakar Lawal, raised a team of Operation Restore Peace led by CSP Bala Shu’aibu, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Doguwa Division to arrest the culprit(s).

“Sustained efforts coupled with intelligence-led follow-up, led to the arrest of the principal suspect, Ado Ibrahim, 29 years old, of Yantama Village, Doguwa LGA, Kano State and three others. The principal suspect was arrested at his hideout.

“Upon interrogation, the principal suspect confessed he singlehandedly kidnapped the victim to a nearby bush and strangled him to death.

Later corpse was discovered by a team of Police detectives, thereafter removed to Doguwa General Hospital for Medical Examination where the Doctor confirm him dead.

“Already the suspects are in the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation. Discreet Investigation into the cases is in progress,” SP Haruna however stated.

Angered by the development, some disgruntled youths went for reprisal, and subsequently burnt down the houses of the arrested suspects.
