Three university students have been arrested by Operatives of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Police Command for the murder of a bolt driver.
Nigeriacrime.com learned that the students are Obasieyene Inemesit Inem, Aaron Anthony and Alasan Ayomide Olusegun.
The trio are students of Bingham University, two of whom are on suspension from the institution.
It was gathered that on June 5th, 2023 at about 9:30 PM Obasi Okeke, the bolt driver was discovered lying in his pool of blood with a slit throat at Ngugu Close Area 11 Garki Abuja.
However, trouble started when they discovered they had no money to pay for their trip. They decided to play a fast one by showing the deceased a fake debit alert on their phone, but the deceased bolt driver in Abuja insisted that he had not received any alert.
In the ensuing argument, one of the suspects brought out a knife slit the deceased’s throat and ford from the scene.
Confirming the arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, said the suspects were arrested on July 20th, 2023.
According to CP Garba, the deceased was called by one of the suspects to convey them to the Guzape area of Abuja.
