5 suspects paraded for various crimes in Kebbi state

Five suspects were on Tuesday paraded by the Commissioner of police Kebbi state command, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora for various crimes in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

Some of the suspects paraded are Abubakar Ismail, Chukwudi P Otutu, Zara u Sahabi (arrested for murder) and others.

NigeriaCrime.com learned that the suspects include thieves, armed robbers and kidnappers, arrested by operatives attached to the state police command.

Among the paraded suspects is Abubakar Ismail who is the site manager of KEBNA jamb ICT centre in Zuru.

Ismail reportedly stole 83 pieces of HP laptops and sold each 40,000 to Chukwudi P Otutu who resides in Sokoto.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that the police arrested the two and recovered 76 out of the 83 pieces of the stolen laptops.

In another operation, on 20th November 2022, a gang of kidnappers invaded the residence of Alhaji Adamu Laga of Tsamiya district of Bagudo local government attacked and abducted him, following a report by his family a team of armed mobile police pursued the kidnappers and engaged them in a gun duel killed one of them and rescued the victim unhurt while 43 AK47 rifles, Dane guns locally made pistol and ammunitions were recovered, other members of his gang are at large.

Parading the suspects, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, said in its continued efforts to rid Kebbi of any form of crime, armed mobile police, Army Personnel, vigilantes and Yansakai in Bena town under Danko/Wasagu local government successfully repelled an attack intended for the village by armed bandits in Mai Rai Rai engaged and overpowered them, as a result, they abandoned the attack took to their heels with gun injuries.

CP Kontagora added that Zara u Sahabi from Kwaku village under Kaoje district aged 25 allegedly used wood to hit Gaddafi Nasiru, 3 years old and the victim died on the spot. Police mobilised to the scene and arrested the suspect who confessed to the crime and would be charged to court when investigations are concluded.

In a related development, CP Kontagora presented cheques of N 18m to the families of deceased police officers who died in active service, each will smile home with 3.6m for the upkeep of the families “on behalf of the inspector general of police, IG Usman Baba Alkali present to you a cheque for 18m, we urge you to use the monies judiciously for the upkeep of the family”.

Responding on behalf of the 5 families Ismail Ahmad thanked the inspector general of police and the state police commissioner for the kind gesture.
