59 miscreants arrested as Taskforce raids black spots in Oshodi

Operatives attached to the Lagos State Task Force have arrested 59 suspected miscreants in Oshodi and its environs.

The suspects were arrested during a raid of some black spots in the areas to reduce criminality in Oshodi.

NigeriaCrime.com learned that the successful raid in Oshodi and its adjoining locations took place in the wee hours, in continuation of the Agency’s bid to provide safety and security of residents in the state.

Speaking on the operation which lasted for about four hours the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye said the raid was carried out along Oshodi, Mafoluku, Ilupeju Railway crossing and Agege Motor Road after complaints had been received from members of the public about the activities of unscrupulous elements in these areas, mostly at night and in the early hours of the day.

Jejeloye revealed that 59 suspects were arrested at various locations and had all been properly profiled before charging them to court.

“Lagosians should expect more raids and security operations in the coming weeks until we can achieve and maintain zero challenges in the sector of security as encapsulated in the THEMES agenda of the State Government. No stone will be left unturned till all criminal elements are either arrested or flee completely from Lagos State”

The Chairman advised residents in the State to be security conscious and ensure that any security breaches within our neighbourhood are quickly reported to the Agency or the nearest Police Station. He stated that the aim of achieving a safe, serene and habitable city is a collective effort which requires every Lagosian hand on deck till it is achieved and beneficial to the general populace. It is high time we knew that aggression to one is aggression to all, therefore as true Lagosians, we must at all times be our brother’s keepers to collectively fight the monster called insecurity before it fights us back.

Recall that the Agency had on Sunday, October 16, 2022, carried out a raid of Oshodi and arrested 33 suspected miscreants who have been profiled accordingly.

This brings the number of arrested suspects to 72 within a space of three days.
