74 kidnapped hostages regain freedom, in Zamfara

Seventy four kidnapped victims including women and children who were abducted by terrorists, in Zamfara have been released.

Nigeriacrime.com gathered that the authorities had earlier claimed that fewer persons were kidnapped while picking fuel wood in bushes around Wanzamai village in Zamfara state, 74 persons released by the terrorists were in a very pitiable condition, as some appeared just like skeletal remains of a human being.

Many of the kidnapped victims were children and women, including those who were pregnant.

Some of the parents and close relations, who shared the sad experiences their loved ones suffered in captivity, prayed that those taken to hospitals for medical attention would recover quickly.

A parent revealed that “we have to sell our farms, food crops and even begged for money to raise money for ransom.”

While the parents mourned the death of two victims allegedly killed by the terrorists, they however claimed that about 20 of their people were still held in captivity and efforts were still on to free them from the terrorists.

It will be recalled that Zamfara State has been in the news as an epicentre of terrorist activities, even though the military and other security agencies have not relented in pursuing and killing them during many successful operations.
