There is tension in Kampala community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State as a man, identified only as Chayi, reportedly beheaded his estranged wife and chopped off his six-year-old daughter’s hand.
The unfortunate incident was said to have happened on Tuesday.
According to a resident of the community, Sunday Yaks, Chayi killed his ex-wife using an axe to chop off her head.
It was gathered that the deceased wife, who had moved out of her matrimonial home earlier, returned to pack her belonging when she met her untimely death.
The resident, speaking to newsmen said the community is tensed at the moment over Chayi’s action. He also stated that the name of the accused’s daughter is Jessica.

He said, “The man has been having a marital crisis, and the wife eventually left the marriage with their little daughter. But, the woman returned to their house in Kampala with her little daughter to pack her things. We don’t know what happened but the man cut off the wife’s head and the daughter’s hand with an axe.
“It was a terrible sight when some community members who were alerted rushed to their house. The two victims were rushed to the hospital, but the woman died while receiving treatment. It took the intervention of the security men to save the man from being lynched by an angry mob in the community.”
Confirming the ugly incident, the State Police Command spokesperson, Alabo Alfred said the man had been arrested by the policemen who were drafted to the community upon receiving the information.
“Right now, the man is in our custody. He will be charged to court when an investigation is concluded in the matter,” he stated.
