Kwara: Two Suspected Cultists Killed On Eid-El-Fitr Day

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the killing of two suspected cult members on Eid el-Fitr day in Ilorin, the state capital.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Okasanmi Ajayi, the two deceased persons were murdered by an unidentified gang that trailed them from Lagos State.

The spokesman made this known to newsmen in the state on Monday, saying that investigation has begun on the incident.

Ajayi confirmed that the which claimed the two lives occurred at Akata Orisunbare Aga area of Ganmo, about 3.1 kilometres from Ilorin, the state capital.

A witness, who spoke anonymously stated that one of the victims, identified as Thompson who came from Lagos, was killed alongside his host Abdulwaheed, a bricklayer.

The attackers reportedly came to the house in two Keke NAPEP (tricycles) at about 5 am, while people were returning home from the Ramadan Laylat al-Qadr.

The eyewitness disclosed that Abdulwaheed was trying to bring out his gun for self-defence when he was shot and macheted to death by his attackers who allegedly severed his head.

The corpses of the two victims were evacuated from the scene of the crime where six expended bullets were recovered by the police at about 9 am.

As a result of the incident, one of the suspected hot spots in the area identified as Blue Bob was raided by security operatives.

The facility according to sources is a suspected abode of cultists in the area.
