Man Locks Up Daughter For Years In Jigawa

A 25-year-old woman has been rescued by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) after her father allegedly locked her up in a room for years.

Disclosing this, the spokesman of the Jigawa State NSCDC Command, CSC Adamu Shehu, said one human rights activist lodged a complaint at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters.

Shehu said the activist reported that a girl of about 25 years named Ummi was locked up in a room within the house for several years without being allowed to come out by her father.

He said, “The activist reported that he received information from the suspect’s neighbours that Ummi Garba, 25, was locked in a room within the house for many years.

“The victim has been rescued even though she looked distressed, unkempt and depressed.

“The room, she was living in served as her toilet, and her food was served on a bare floor like an animal.
