A man, Aniekan James, has been arrested by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for allegedly killing his only son, Odudu James, aged 35, during an argument.
The development was made known by the state Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi, who said the suspect was arrested on June 16, 2023, by operatives of the Ukanafun Division
The police, while parading the suspect and 268 others arrested for various offences, disclosed that Aniekan had killed several people in Lagos and Abia states.
He said, “On June 16, 2023, one Aniekan James of Ikot Ndot village in Ukanafun LGA was arrested by the Ukanafun division for shooting his 35-year-old only son, Odudu James, who had been having a war of words with him. The suspect is alleged to be a habitual murderer who has committed murders in Lagos and Aba states.”

Local law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene after receiving distress calls from concerned neighbors. The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries. The father was subsequently apprehended by the police and taken into custody.
