A 30-year-old security guard, identified as Hassan Adamu, has been arrested by men of the Jigawa State Police Command for allegedly stealing properties belonging to Government Girl Unity Secondary School, Kazaure.
The development was made known by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, saying, “One Bashir Ahmed, a Vice Principal at Government Girls Unity Secondary School Kazaure, reported at Kazaure Police Station that on Sunday at about 1700hrs, he discovered that some of the school properties were stolen by unknown persons.”
Speaking further, the police spokesperson disclosed that personnel of the Kazaure Division were dispatched to a shop belonging to Adamu, located at KanGada quarters in Kazaure LGA.
The image maker said some items belonging to the school were found in the shop of the security guard, who hails from Bornu-Kishi village, Yobe State.
He explained that some of the recovered items include a printer machine, minicomputers, ceiling fans, and a disc receiver.
DSP Shiisu said after interrogation, the suspect confessed to having used a master key to open the store and steal the items.

He said the investigation is going on to recover the remaining stolen items and will be charged in court for prosecution.
In another development, two siblings, Philomena Kpaakpa, 4, and Benedict Kpaakpa, 2, were abducted after church service on Sunday in Makurdi, Benue State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred after mass at the St Peter’s Catholic Church Makurdi.
The children were said to have purchased some items from a female hawker hovering around the church’s premises.
It was further gathered that they followed the hawker, who claimed not to have ‘change’, to get their balance, while their mother walked in front only to realise too late that her children were no longer behind her.
A search proved abortive, as the hawker and children were nowhere to be found.
The father of the children works with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Wurukum, Makurdi.
When journalists visited the home of the missing children, neighbours and sympathisers surrounded the weeping mother, who was too distraught and grief-stricken to answer any question.
The spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, Catherine Anene, said that the matter had not been officially reported to the police.
