2 killed as bandits burn down military trucks, in Niger State

Two locals have been killed as bandits have invaded Allawa town in Shiroro local government area of Niger state again.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that the bandits arrived in the community in large numbers and first attacked the military post during which they burnt down the trucks and succeeded in demobilizing the security men before carrying out their onslaught in other areas.

They later stormed the village market square during which they burnt down the trucks loaded with assorted foodstuffs and also burnt down some motorcycles.

It could not be immediately ascertained whether there were casualties during the invasion of the Military base just as the whereabouts of the soldiers believed to be occupants of the Trucks are yet to be unknown.

However, two villagers one of them called Dantala Gyari were killed during the crossfire while one Mamman Gambo sustained serious injuries from the gunshots.
Meanwhile, a combined Security Force is said to have been dispatched to the affected community to dislodge the terrorists.

All efforts to get the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Internal Security Alhaji Tareeq Abdulkhareem to confirm the development proved abortive as he did not respond to calls made to his cell phone.

Similarly, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer DSP Wasiu Abiodun could also not be reached for confirmation of the story.

However, the District head of Allawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Allawa when contacted confirmed the story.
“We are shocked by the development. It is a sad day for us,” the District Head remarked.
