Five leaders of armed bandits have been killed in Kwakware village situated in Jibia local government, Katsina State during a fierce confrontation between security agents and armed bandits
Nigeriacrime.com learned that the clash occurred around 2 pm on Saturday when a combined team of police officers and vigilantes encountered the hoodlums launching an attack on the aforementioned village.
According to a member of the vigilante group, those neutralised in the attack as follows: Bala Wuta, Tsoho Hassan na Kadoji, Na Sahura, Hussaini Bakuru and Lawal Baban Sabe Kadoji.
He also revealed that a police officer, Abdullahi Banka and a member of the vigilante, Surajo Jibia sustained injuries amidst the chaos.
Confirming the report, the Public Relations Officer, Katsina Police Command, ASP Abubakr Sadiq Aliyu said, “Yes, it is true. five leaders of the hoodlums were killed in the attack. We didn’t suffer any casualty though a police officer and a vigilante member got injured in the attack .”
In a related development, rampaging bandits have wreaked havoc claiming the lives of 11 innocent people.
The assault reportedly happened on Friday where nine lives were lost in the bandit’s attack on some communities of Yangtu Special Development Area and two others in Tukwog Community along the Takum-Manya road.
The Chairman of Ussa Local Government Area, Amb. Peter Shamwun, who confirmed the devastating attacks on Saturday, raised the alarm that the bandits have laid siege along Takum-Ussa road, threatening more lives.
A survivor, Yakubu Tinya who spoke to newsmen, recounted that the bandits came in numbers and shot at sight.
Spokesman of the state police command, SP Abdullahi Usman also confirmed the report.
He said a joint patrol between the police and military has commenced to forestall further attacks.
