Oputu a critic of the ongoing crisis in the state’s APC, who had also served as State Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), was murdered at his residence at Bay-Bridge, a suburb of Yenagoa.

A few months back, on May 15, gunmen also killed Mr. Sylvester Ntefre, a former chapter Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

There was an attack in his hometown at Ekparakwa, OrukAnam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state.

The hoodlums stormed Ntefre residence around 8 a.m. dragged him outside of his house and escaped with him through the bush where they eventually shot him dead.

Also on April 11, suspected gunmen, killed Chief Gbenga Ogbara, the Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Atakumosa-East Central local government of Osun State.
