No fewer than 44 suspects have been paraded by the Adamawa police Command for allegedly involved in kidnapping, robberies, and some other crimes.
Sikiru Akande, state commissioner of police, Sikiru Akande, while parading the suspects on Monday, said the suspects were rounded up by executing a crime-fighting strategy to clear pathways for smooth electoral processes in the count down to the general elections of next year.
He added that the suspects were apprehended in connection with kidnapping activities, culpable homicide, rape, causing grievous hurt, housebreaking, theft and other violent crimes.

“The police operatives, drawn from Crack Squad, Special Rapid Respond Squad, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Divisional Police Headquarters across the state carried out tactical, intelligence-driven dusk to dawn raids of criminal hideouts, adding that the operations had disconnected networks of kidnappers and other violent criminals,” he said
According to him, two cars, 37 jerricans of lubricant oil, cartons of hydraulic oil, handphones, a power generator, and television sets, five AK 47 guns and two pistols and 31 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the suspects.
Sikiru also added that his command will not allow space for any group of persons to temper the peace of the state, as the command has the capacity to respond to all threats.
