NSCDC Recovers 54,000 Illegally Refined Oil, Others In Abuja

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Sunday announced that its operatives uncovered and sealed an illegal petroleum products dump in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The development was posted on the verified Facebook page of the security outfit and the statement was also corroborated by the corp’s spokesman, Olusola Odumosu on Sunday.

According to the image maker of the agency, the discovery and sealing of the illegal oil dump was made by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad.

Odumosu listed the items that were recovered from the bust of the illegal mining site.

His words, “over 54,000 liters of suspected vandalised, illegally refined and adulterated Automotive Gas Oil, one pumping machine, one generator, two surface tanks containing suspected adulterated and illegally refined AGO were recovered.”

The post added two empty surface tanks, four empty trucks, one truck containing suspected vandalised, illegally refined and adulterated AGO, two drums of AGO, two different waybills, two different vehicle plates, one pump action, one dane-gun and six cartridges were recovered.
