Kaduna Govt Confirms Killing Of Four Bandits In Chikun

The Kaduna State Government has announced that four bandits were killed in the state by troops of Operation Forest Sanity.

According to the state Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, on Sunday, the troops destroyed the hideouts of the bandits around Tsohon Gayan, Chikun LGA.

The disclosure was made after the state government received operational feedback from the troops.

The Commissioner said the troops who pursued some of the fleeing bandits, engaged them, killed two bandits while credible human intelligence sources revealed that two others died from gunshot wounds.

He said two of the four neutralised have been identified as Dogo Mallam and Bello Mallam, adding that troops recovered one AK47 rifle, one magazine with 22 rounds of ammunition and one motorcycle.

“The troops made contact and pursued the fleeing bandits. Two bandits were neutralized during the engagement, while credible human intelligence sources revealed that two others died from gunshot wounds.

“Credible sources in the general area reported that two of the four neutralized have been identified as Dogo Mallam and Bello Mallam.

“The troops recovered one AK47 rifle, one magazine with 22 rounds of ammunition and one motorcycle.

“Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed satisfaction at the report, and praised the troops for their resilience and courage in the latest success. Clearance operations will continue in the general area and other locations,” he said.
