There was tragedy in Tsangarwa village, Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State where a mother, Khadija Ibrahim, aged 30, and her two daughters were killed in a fire incident.
The incident was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Command CSC, Adamu Shehu.
Shehu, in a statement issued to pressmen in the state, stated that the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, December 16, 20222, at about 2300 hours.
The spokesman noted that the fire destroyed the victims’ hut while they were sleeping, killing the mother and her 4-year-old daughter, Aisha Ibrahim, and 2-year-old Rabi Ibrahim.

According to him “the fire incident engulfed a hut where a 30-year-old Khadija Ibrahim was sleeping together with her two daughters, 4-year-old Aisha Ibrahim and 2-year-old Rabi Ibrahim.”
He explained that both the mother and her two daughters were completely consumed by the inferno as none of the victims was rescued alive.
“CSC Adamu said the cause of the fire was unknown, but neighbours said it might not be unconnected with a charcoal fire that was meant to keep them warm,” the statement read.
He said the remains of the victims were taken to a hospital and confirmed dead by a medical doctor and were buried according to Islamic rites.
