A 32-year-old man, identified as Abdullahi Abdulkadiri, was on Friday remanded by an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The suspect was retained in a Correctional Centre in the state over alleged conspiracy and attempted armed robbery.
Mrs O. A Akande, the Magistrate in charge of the case rejected the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction, directing the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions pending legal advice.
Akande adjourned the case until February 22 for mention.
In his argument, the Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan stated that the crime was committed on December 26, 2022, at about 7 pm in the Ogbomoso district of the state.
He added that the defendant and others at large allegedly conspired to commit the offence.

He said the defendant, while armed with sticks, and cutlasses, allegedly attempted to rob Opeyemi Adeoye of his motorcycle worth N400, 000.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 6b and 2(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms laws of Nigeria, 2004.
Meanwhile, three persons reportedly died and eight others were injured when a speeding Toyota Corolla hit a taxi from the rear at the Ile-Ise Panu axis at the Abeokuta end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
It was gathered that both vehicles were on the way to Abeokuta when the accident occurred at 7.30 am on Friday.
The impact of the accident mangled the Nissan Micra taxi marked AKM590YQ, while the engine compartment of the Toyota Corolla with number plate LND618FQ got damaged.
The Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident.
Akinbiyi said an eyewitness account indicated that the driver of the Toyota Corolla lost control of the car due to speeding and rammed it into the taxi from the rear while passengers were trying to alight.
