Abandoned Bag Containing Thousand of PVCs Found In Anambra Forest

A bag containing thousands of abandoned of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been found in a forest in Nnewi, Anambra State.

According to reports made available to NIGERIACRIME, the bag was discovered by two hunters, whose names have not been ascertained.

It was gathered that the hunters took the bag, which was found in a bush in Akamili, a community in Nnewi, on Tuesday, to the premises of a popular radio station, Authority FM

Speaking on the development, the Station Manager of Authority FM, Mr Charles Ede, told newsmen that he was off duty when the cards were brought, but his staff members have reported to him about the incident.

“I was off duty when the incident happened, but one of my staff members received the hunters when they came. I will send you his number,” he said.

In a now-viral video, NIGERIACRIME observed that the video, which was made in the compound of the radio station in Nnewi, showed that the PVCs belonged to people of the area.

A staff of the radio station was heard asking the owners of the cards to locate the premises and pick up their PVCs to enable them participate in the February 25 elections and subsequent ones.

Meanwhile, a road accident along Kaduna-Kafachan road on Tuesday night claimed five lives, while two others sustained severe injuries.

A resident of Idon community, along Kaduna-Kafachan road, Mr. Sunday Abdul, on Wednesday morning, stated that that he heard a loud bang close to his residence around 10:00 pm on Tuesday night, and rushed to the road, where he met a Golf car turned upside down.

“I retired to bed in the night around 10:00 pm, when I heard the sound like thunderstorm. So, I woke, ran to the place which was first covered with dust. As dust settled, I saw five people dead, while two were still breathing,” he said.

According to him, both the dead and injured were taken to the Idon General Hospital.
