Abductors of Nollywood actors demand $100,000 ransom, says AGN

The abductors of the two Nollywood actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel have demanded the $100,000 in ransom payment.

This was disclosed by Emeka Rollas, president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), on Saturday.

NigeriaCrime reported that the two were missing on Friday, with their family members confirming that they had yet to return from a filming they went to at Ozalla Town in Enugu state.

The assumption was that they had been abducted, given the spate of kidnappings across the country in the past months.

The Enugu police subsequently launched an investigation into the matter and recovered a vehicle belonging to Okereke from where it was said to have been abandoned on the highway.

Rollas said the abductors are demanding $100,000 in ransom.

“It’s a confirmed kidnap case. They have made contact and demanded for 100k dollars,” he said.

Rollas had earlier implored actors to avoid filming in outskirt of cities without security.

As of when this report was filed, there are claims that a bank account belonging to Okereke had already been emptied of its funds.
