There was tension in Ania, Akanu, Ohafia LGA of Abia State as a native doctor, identified as Emea Ibe, reportedly fled the community after inflicting terrible injuries on two children.
According to a community source, the fleeing native doctor inflicted machete wounds his victims for allegedly killing his sheep.
The victims were identified as Friday Ota Awa, 10, and his step-sister, Kosisochukwu.
Ibe, who has since fled to an undisclosed location accused Awa of beating his sheep to death.
The boy’s family, however, denied the allegation.
It was gathered that Ibe, without listening to the boy’s side of the story, tied and dragged him to his shrine, where he dealt him machete blows in an effort to get Awa’s confession.

He added that when his sister, Kosisochukwu pleaded with the native doctor to spare her brother’s life, Ibe also grabbed her and beat her with the same machete, declaring that nothing would happen even if he killed them.
NIGERIACRIME was informed that the victim’s father is a stroke patient and their mother, an asthma sufferer.
Condemning the development, the traditional ruler of Akanu, Ezieogo Mba Okereke, said he had directed other native doctors in the community to fish out their fugitive colleague for prosecution.
The monarch who condemned the action of the native doctor, promised that the matter would not be swept under the
carpets as he is prepared to protect the rights of abused children.
Similarly, youths of Ania Akanu have vowed to nab the fleeing native doctor and bring him to justice for bringing the name of the community into disrepute.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Police Command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, said the command was not yet aware of the incident.
