Bayelsa road accident claims four in Bayelsa State

Four persons have reportedly lost their lives in an accident along the Tombia-Amassoma road in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Nigeriacrime.com gathered that the tragic road accident, which occurred Friday evening along the LNG axis of the usually busy road, it was learned involved a sport utility vehicle and a sedan car.

The immediate cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained at the time of filling in the report.

However, it was learned that those who lost their lives are students who were returning home for the weekend.

It was also learned that the remains of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri while the injured are being treated at the intensive care unit.

Contacted, Spokesman of the state police command, Mr Asinim Butswat, confirmed the accident but could not give the exact number of casualties.

He said traffic officers of the command have been dispatched to the scene of the accident, adding that the command will issue a statement to that effect in due course.

In a related development, the Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the death of 3 police operatives in a ghastly motor accident in Giwa Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesperson of the Command, DSP Mohammed Jalige, had prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased officers the wished 3 other injured operatives of the Command; a quick recovery.

The 3 police operatives died in a car accident along Kidanda Road in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

A source said they were travelling to Giwa after witnessing the Sallah Hawan Daushe celebration in Zaria at about 9 pm on Sunday.

According to the source, “a tyre in the moving vehicle burst at Sako village, 3 died and 3 were injured and rushed to the nearby hospital. ”

” The 3 were rescued in a pool of blood, the dead had their heads broken. It’s so gory, ” the source added.
