The Kogi State House of Assembly building has been destroyed by fire.
The incident reportedly happened in the early hours of Monday.
The roof of the building, located at the Crusher Area of Lokoja, was damaged by the fire.
The source of the fire is unknown as of press time, however, Kolawole said that he suspects sabotage.

Speaking to journalist when inspecting the remains of the building, Speaker of the house, Mathew Kolawole, said that he suspects sabotage but fell short of where the suspected sabotage might be from.
When responding to question on whether it might have a link with the recent happening between the Assembly and Dangote group, he said that that is left to the security to determine.
“We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward,” the speaker said.
