Business Admin Graduate From York University, Canada Commits Suicide In Lagos

A 23-year-old graduate of Business Administration from York University in Canada, Chinoso Anene, has allegedly committed suicide in Lagos.

It was learned that Chinoso Anene, reportedly locked himself inside his apartment on Wednesday 27th July at House 9, Emmanuel Court, Olusegun Aina Street, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi and thereafter used a pump action gun to shoot himself. His lifeless body was discovered inside the wardrobe when police officers broke the door to his apartment.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson, Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Huydeyin said the DPO Ikoyi Division received a distress call from the Chief Security Officer of Parkview Estate, Mr Daramola that Chinoso Anene has committed suicide.

“Based on the report, a team of detectives visited and photographed the scene, the door was forced open and one expended cartridge was recovered. The remains of the deceased have been deposited at Lagos Island morgue for autopsy while the investigation is ongoing.

Recall that two months ago, an accountant at a telecommunications company in Lagos state, Folake Abiola, allegedly committed suicide at her residence at Osapa London, in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

The 45-year-old killed herself by drinking an insecticide at her house last Friday, May 27th.

She was said to have died shortly after, and her family members, friends and men of the Nigeria Police Force met her lying motionless.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the police visited Abiola’s house and met her lifeless body on the floor.

The moment the police in that area were alerted, they arrived at the scene and met the woman lifeless on the floor. A bottle of insecticide was also found on her, apparently, she had ingested that insecticide.

The family members that were there officially wrote to the divisional police officer requesting for the release of the corpse to enable them to bury her in accordance with Islamic rites and the corpse was released to the family on compassionate grounds. ”he said.
