Corruption: 32 Judiciary staffs dismissed in Niger State

Thirty-two staff of the Niger State Judicial Service Commission have been dismissed for their involvement in Corrupt related Cases.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that the decision was arrived at after a thorough investigation had been conducted on them and were caught in the Webb of corruption and booted out accordingly.

Chief Judge of Niger State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdulmalik who disclosed this in Minna at a special Court session also revealed that thirty-two other staff retired from the Service.
“The Judicial Service Commission decided against sanctioning the dismissed staff after thorough investigations were conducted and they were found accomplices in corrupt related Cases.
“The affected staff were accorded fair hearing and many of them were all involved in corruption and Corrupt practice.
“With their dismissal, a strong message has been passed to those who may want to indulge in such unwholesome practices as they will also be shown the way out of the system.
Justice Halima Abdulmalik pointed out that two Judges of the High Court and two Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeals were appointed out of the twenty Judges and ten Khadis they could recruit.
The Judge pointed out that the Judiciary is presently in dire need of ICT personnel, Bailiffs, interpreters, security men and Messengers and therefore called on the state Governor, Muhammed Umaru Bago to help in this direction.
Justice Halima called on the entire staff to be above board in the discharge of their duties pointing out that transparency, hard work, uprightness diligence among others will be accorded priority before any staff is considered for promotion.
“To this end, persons with exceptional performance in the promotional examination or the conduct and discharge of their official duties and those with long unblemished records of service have been recognized and rewarded and we intend to sustain the practice” she declared.

Ronke Mary Adeleke of the Oyo State Ministry of Lands has been sentenced to a year imprisonment over financial fraud by the Chief Magistrate Court 1, Iwo Road Ibadan, presided over by Magistrate Taiwo Oladiran

Nigeriacrime.com learned that the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency (OYACA), secured the conviction of Adeleke after it had investigated a case submitted against her by a victim from whom she dubiously collected the sum of Six Hundred Thousand Naira (N600,000.00).

The court also ordered the convict to refund the said money to the victim within a month.

Adeleke was investigated by the anti-graft agency and found culpable before her case file was handed over to the state’s Ministry of Justice for prosecution.

Delivering his judgement, Justice Oladiran, ordered the convict to refund the sum of N600,000 (Six Hundred Thousand Naira) collected from the victim within one month.

“This court convicted today, Adeleke Ronke Mary, a civil servant of the Ministry of Lands for official corruption under the Section 22 of the OYACA Law and the court sentenced her to a year term of imprisonment.”
