EFCC arrrsts 5 for dispensing fake dollars in Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended five Nigerians for alleged currency counterfeiting.

Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC Head of Media, disclosed  their arrest in a statement on Friday.

The suspects were caught with bundles of United States currency totalling $113,400.

They are Sule Sani, Abba Sulaiman, Abraham Amengwa James, Haruna Nahum Rabiu and Samson Koadam Paul.

The syndicate was busted at Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, following actionable intelligence the commission received.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” Uwujaren noted.

Last month, the anti-graft agency threatened to arrest Nigerians hoarding dollars and other foreign currency.

Also in July, the EFCC operatives raided Wuse Zone 4, federal capital territory, Abuja, over allegations that some bureaux De change operators are mopping up foreign currencies
