Enugu Woman, Children Declared Missing

A middle-aged woman, identified simply as Chinyere, have been declared missing after residents of Umuokpara Amagu Nachi, in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State could not ascertain her whereabout and that of her children.

It was gathered that the community is presently tensed as residents did not find Chinyere and her three children.

NIGERIACRIME learnt that family, friends and neighbours have went round the village in search of the four missing persons but met a hard luck.

Chinyere, who is an indigene of Umuokpara Amagu Nachi and her kids were last seen at about 6am on Monday, January 2, 2023.

The pictures of the missing persons have, since then, been splashed across social media platforms by the family, appealing to all Nigerians to report to the nearest police station if they are sighted.

Efforts to get the reaction of the Enugu State Police Command on the incident were unsuccessful as the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, could not be reached as his phone was said to be switched off.

Meanwhile, an unnamed motorcyclist was crushed to death on Tuesday in a tanker accident at the Alaba Express Bus Stop along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos State.

The 33,000-litre tanker conveying premium motor spirit outbound Mile 2 accidentally lost control and fell on its side after a collision with a motorcycle.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) in a statement confirmed the death of the motorcyclist.

“Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider was crushed to death underneath the tanker and its contents are spilling onto the road rendering the scene extremely hazardous to other motorists and passersby,” said LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu.

Also, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue confirmed that “an adult male motorcyclist” was trapped beneath the tanker.
