⁃⁃⁃⁃Hundreds of fake registrations discovered

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have uncovered a fake Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) center in Jobi Fele Way, Alausa Business District, Alausa, Ikeja.

Five suspects manning the center were equally arrested for forgery and impersonating CAC officials. Those arrested include Gloria Ukaegbu aged 28, Omolere Kayode aged 30, Taiwo Ajayi aged 34, Nwachukwu Brenda aged 27, and Oluwatomisin Adebisi aged 25.

Led by the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, the operatives recovered several forged CAC documents, a Toyota Sienna, and a Toyota Matrix used as makeshift offices for their nefarious transactions.

Confirming the  arrest, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command said the discovery was based on a tip-off, painstaking background check, and verification.

Hundeyin noted that preliminary investigation reveals that the syndicate has swindled hundreds of people through fake CAC registrations.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, FDC has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti for further investigations and eventual prosecution.

Recall that operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce also arrested 13 illegal visa racketeers two weeks ago.

The suspects were apprehended during a clean-up exercise carried out along Otunba David Oshikoya Drive in Ikeja and its environs.

The exercise which lasted about three hours was spearheaded by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye who disclosed that the operation was carried out to restore sanity and orderliness in that axis which has been known for harbouring some criminal elements who are known for cutting corners and sharp practices.
