The former governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has been fingered in the recent invasion of the Ekiti State House of Assembly complex, which was carried out by the police.
According to sources, the former governor on Wednesday allegedly moved personnel of the of the state Police Command in order to disrupt the reign of the new Speaker of the House, Gboyega Aribisogan.
Police operatives, on getting to the complex, dismissed the Assembly workers under the guise of possible attack by hoodlums.

However, a source revealed that it was a plot by the former Minister to stop the emergence of Aribisogan, who was not his preferred candidate to fill the vacuum caused by the death of the late Speaker, Funminyi Afuye.
Aribisogan emerged on Tuesday despite alleged efforts by the immediate former governor of the state to impose his candidate, Chief Bunmi Adelugba on the people, in a move to retain control of the state legislature.
One of the sources also revealed that the new Speaker is the preferred candidate of the state governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji.
The source said Fayemi summoned politicians to a meeting in his house on Sunday to plot against Aribisogan ahead of the election, in a desperate bid to ensure his candidate, Adelugba won.
