The lifeless bodies of a family of five were discovered in Amutenyi village in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State in the early hours of Saturday.
The victims bodies were discovered in their apartment.
The incident involved one Mrs. Chinyere Odoh, her two children: Udochukwu Odoh, aged 7 and Chukwuemeka Odoh aged 4, including her two sisters: Martina Ezeme and Ngozi Ezeme.
Their relations alerted the police after suspecting that something might have happened to them, the police broke the doors and found their lifeless bodies in two rooms where they slept.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, the State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe said preliminary investigation proved that there is something fishy about the death of the five victims.
Ndukwe said, “However, their lifeless bodies were found in two (2) separate rooms they slept in, when Police Operatives from Udenu Police Division of the Command, who swiftly responded to a distress call on the incident around 9:25 am on Saturday, forced-opened the doors of the rooms.
“They were immediately moved to the hospital and confirmed dead by doctors on duty, and their corpses deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.”
He promised that further development will be communicated.
According to the PPRO, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Ammani, while describing the incident as unfortunate and expressing his condolences to the family of the deceased persons, directed that an investigation be thoroughly carried out and concluded within the shortest possible time.
