Yet-to-be-identified gunmen have killed 18 persons including children in a coordinated attack on four Benue communities.
According to reports obtained by NIGERIACRIME, Ukohol and three other neighbouring villages in Guma Local Government Area, LGA, of the state.
The armed men who are suspected to be herdsmen attacked the communities on Thursday night.
They were said to have invaded the community from neighbouring Nasarawa State and opened fire on unsuspecting residents.
The attack on these communities was confirmed by the Chairman of the LGA, Dr. Michael Uba.

Uba said the assailants killed 10 persons at the Ukohol market and eight in three neighbouring villages.
According to him, the criminal elements invaded the areas and started shooting sporadically, gunning down whoever they came across in the affected villages.
He said that the armed men killed children even those below the ages of two,
“Ten persons where killed in the market while the eight were murdered in the villages when they were running back and trying to flee,” he added.
When contacted, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Superintendent, SP, Catherine Anene who confirmed the development, said she was yet to get details of the incident.
She pledged to revert with details.
The armed herders had in the last two months staged repeated attacks on parts of Guma, killing several persons while others were displaced from their homes.
