How ObiDantti supporters marched across 7 states in Nigeria, London

Millions of Nigerians, across seven states in Nigeria on Saturday 1st October participated in the Obidantti 2023 forward ever March.

The ObiDantti supporters marched which took place in Lagos, Delta, Edo, Osun, Kano, Abia, Akwa Ibom and London is one of the most well-organised and coordinated marches across the world that happened simultaneously, voluntary and without any financial inducement.

The desire and passion to take back the country through Mr Peter Obi’s mandate were seen in the faces of supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi as physically challenged, market women and people from all walks of life thronged, the busy roads of major cities to show their support for their preferred candidate.

In Lagos, supporters converged in Festac, Lekki Opposite Admiralty way, and Ikeja and walked over 10km distance chatting and strutting happily.

In Bauchi, it was no different as Obi’s supporters walked several kilometres and converged at Rafin Zurfi screaming the slogan ‘we are not only on social media, we are real’.

In Abia, the one Million March for ObiDatti”, which brought activities in Aba, to a standstill, began from the Osisioma Ngwa flyover from where the crowd marched through Aba-Owerri Road, Asa Road, Factory Road, Azikiwe Road and down to the Ogbor-Hill axis of the city.

The experience was the same in Osun state as Labour Party faithful thronged major roads in some towns marching in support of the party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

The solidarity rallies held in the state capital, Ile-Ife and Ilesa with supporters carrying different placards with inscriptions; “We are the structure”, “Ile-Ife walks for Obi”, “A New Nigeria is possible”, among others.

The solidarity walk in Ile-Ife took off from Enuwa square through different parts of the town to Mayfair roundabouts. While the Osogbo rally started from stadium roundabout through Ayetoro to Old garage.

Business activities in Asaba, Delta State capital, were brought to a halt as supporters of the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti-Ahmed, embarked on a road walk in the major streets of the town.

The road walk caused traffic gridlock in the town as commercial tricycle riders and other road users could not have easy movement on the road.

The road walk which took off from Inter Bau Flyover to Ogbogonogo and then back to the flyover was the first in Asaba by the ‘Obidient’ Movement, which comprises various support groups for Obi/Datti presidential ticket.

The supporters who were in high spirits, sang and danced to music from various DJs, winning more people into the fold on the way.

While expressing their resolve to vote for Labour Party in next year’s presidential election, some of them who spoke to newsmen said Nigerians were now tired of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

They insisted that the Obi/Datti ticket is the solution to the challenges of insecurity, poor economy, incessant industrial action and bad leadership.
