Irate youths lynched suspected robbers in Aba

Irate youths have lynched two suspected robbers for stealing a power generating set in Aba area of Abia State.

The two suspects who were caught with a power generating set they reportedly stole from a fashion plaza along Hospital Road, Aba we’re burnt to death.

Nigeriacrime.com learned that although the incident took place few meters away from the Police Area Command, policemen attached to the command were unaware till the suspects were lynched.

It was gathered that within three months, fashion designers at the plaza have lost three generating sets without trace.

Lamenting bitterly, one of the fashion designers, name with held revealed that he situation led to the employment of security guards who could not stop the theft as the stealing continued on monthly basis leading to the disengagement of the guards.”

According to him; “for three months, we’ve been buying generators. Do you know that 2.5kva is sold for N189,000 and some of us have bought such three times within a space of three months.

“The truth is that before those two criminals were burnt alive, both confessed who their informant was. He has been the one telling them when the coast is clear to steal.

“We caught them and they demonstrated how they normally use our water reservoir drums to climb into the first storey building. Today,before they were caught, they’ve already stolen two 2.5kva-SPG-300 and were on a mission to steal the last one when they were caught through an alarm raised by one of the tailors who worked overnight in his shop.”

“One of the two suspects was identified as a sanitation worker at the receptacle located at Jubilee Road by Asa Road where they usually hide stolen generator sets.

“These boys work as refuse evacuation agents during the day, but turn to thieves at night. They’ve been doing this until this morning when God decided to expose them.

“I am sad that they were killed without police presence because if police had appeared, they would have taken note of the names of their partners.”

As at the time of filing this report, efforts to get the reaction of the Police Public Relations Officer,Abia State Command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, was unsuccessful, as he was yet to respond to a text message sent to him
