Kidnapped Farmer Released After Paying N5m

Abductors released farm supervisor Christopher Bakare to his family after the payment of 5 million naira was paid.

He was kidnapped on Saturday evening on the farm at Jabata, Surulere local government area of Oyo State.

His abductors demanded 100 million naira but after negotiations that took four days, 5 million was agreed upon as the ransom.

According to a source from the family, he was released on Wednesday after the ransom was paid to his abductors.

“This morning after initially agreeing to N5 million, they refused again demanding N10 million. But they eventually took N5million,” the source said.

It was also said that the ransom was taken to a forest in Otte area, at the boundary between Oyo and Kwara States along the old Ogbomoso-Ilorin Road.
