Man locked up for 20 years rescued in Kaduna

A 67-year-old man Ibrahim Ado, who was allegedly locked up in a room in Bayajidda/Ibrahim Taiwo Road in Kaduna North Local government Area has been rescued by operatives of the State Police Command.

Ibrahim Ado was rescued after the police received a report of the incident.

NigeriaCrime.com gathered that Ibrahim Ado was found naked inside a dark room where he ate, urinated and did everything without being taken care of.

Confirming the victim’s rescue, the spokesperson of the Kaduna Police Command DSP Muhammed Jalige said upon receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna Command, ordered that the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area should lead operatives to the scene and rescue the man.

The incident was reported to the Police community health workers who were on duty in the afternoon at Bayajidda by Ibrahim Taiwo Road in Kaduna.”

“The Commissioner also ordered that a full-scale investigation be carried out to unravel the true position and cause of the inhuman treatment to the elderly man.

The DPO Magajin Gari Police Division has commenced investigations.

Explaining further, Jalige said “When we went to the scene, we found the man naked. We gave him clothes, he was rescued and taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.”

Preliminary investigation revealed that Ibrahim Ado had children and a wife who was nowhere to be found, the people we met in the compound and the neighbouring houses, we believe will assist us in getting the true position of the whole scenario.”

“We will work together with the medical doctors to obtain their report on the man’s health status.

Also, five people who lived in the building were invited to assist in the investigation.

In a related development, the Command had at about 8 am on 12th October 2022 received information that some heavily armed bandits in large numbers were sighted around Idasso area of Kidandan in Galadimawa District of Giwa LGA on a mission to commit atrocities against law-abiding citizens.”

“Upon receipt of the information, the Command immediately mobilised a nearby crack squad to advance to the location in a bid to thwart their mission. The resilient officers on getting to the area engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle and successfully neutralised two bandits while others escaped with varying degrees of bullet wounds.

“An immediate search of the vicinity led to the recovery of an AK49 rifle loaded with Twenty Four (24) rounds of live ammunition and one bandits’ operational motorcycle.

Also a 65-year-old kidnapped victim Yusuf Dahiru was equally rescued unhurt. Operatives are currently combing the general area with the view to apprehending the fleeing band of marauders.

“The Commissioner of Police has appreciated the sacrifice officers and men of the Command continue to make daily to restore public order and normalcy in our state.

He equally charged them to continue to work in close synergy with other security agencies and build on the trust of the general public in actualising their mandate of securing the public space. In the meantime, members of the public in the area have been enjoined to report anyone found with bullet injuries to the nearest security formation,” Jalige said.
