Policemen attached to Denton Division, Lagos State Police Command is currently investigating 21-year-old Monday Nnmie, a mechanic for stabbing his elder brother to death over N1,500 in Ebute Metta area of Lagos.
The incident happened at their mechanic workshop located along Sam Freeman Street Ebute Metta on Thursday, September 7, 2022, at about 7 PM.
According to information available to NigeriaCrime.com, it was learned that on Thursday at about 7 pm Monday Nnmie used a broken bottle to stab his brother John Okoh on his neck during a scuffle between the duo.
An eye witness who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the two brothers were fighting over N1,500 given to John Okoh by a customer. During the fight, Monday Nnmie grabbed a broken bottle and stabbed the victim in his neck. Unfortunately, he bled to death on the way to the hospital.”
The victim, John Okoh who was immediately rushed to Federal Medical Centre in Ebute Metta for treatment, was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
Confirming the incident, the public relations officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said on September 07, 2022, at about 7:30 pm, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Denton received a distress call that one Monday Nnmie aged 21 has allegedly stabbed death his brother named John Okoh aged 28 years with a broken bottle.
Based on the report, detectives attached to the division went to the scene, took photographs, and arrested the suspect. Also, the corpse of the deceased has been evacuated to Mainland General Hospital Morgue Yaba for autopsy. The investigation is in progress.”
